Correction

CORRECTION: In a story titled “Press conference erupts into debate” in the July 28, 2005 issue of The Courier on page 3, it was reported that state. Sen. Joe Kyrillos accepted $52,800 from Jack Morris, his companies and individuals affiliated with his companies. An election report listed a $5,600 contribution made on October 2, 2001 by JSM @ New Durham LLC to Kyrillos. In fact, the $5,600 was a return of excess funds and not a contribution, as originally listed in the election documents. Specifically, the $5,600 was a refund of an excessive contribution of $10,000 made on October 1, 2001. The amount of money Kyrillos accepted from Morris and Morris’s companies and employees between April 1999 and April 2004 is $47,200, not $52,800 as originally reported. The Courier deeply regrets the error.
